Figure I may as well ask this on the nerdiest of my social media sites - does anyone know of good intros/overviews of simple-to-intermediate mechanisms used in mechanical designs? Stuff in between 'simple single pulley' and 'planetary gear system', basically, with the additional context that I'd mostly like to get better at designing and building simple mechanics for like, cosplay and 3d printing projects, etc.

@cocoa I don't know if this is super helpful but the museum of science has a display with a whole lot of different types of this level of mechanism and you can watch them move to see how they work, it's pretty cool but like, not worth the cost of museum entry just for that

@ehyde@federatedfandom.net Well, I'll keep that in mind next time they've got an interesting temp exhibit I want to see XD or am taking an out-of-town friend.
