So, I am seriously considering running a little event for Gu Yun's birthday next month, of the 'one prompt a day for [x] days' variety where x depends on how many interesting prompts I can think up.
I think having it start on or end on his birthday makes the most sense, but I'm not sure which. Ending on it was my instinctive first pick, buuuuut then it overlaps with Lunar New Year (as his birthday is the day after Shangyuan).
Thoughts, anyone? I am not on fedi software that can make polls otherwise I would've done that, haha.
Figure I may as well ask this on the nerdiest of my social media sites - does anyone know of good intros/overviews of simple-to-intermediate mechanisms used in mechanical designs? Stuff in between 'simple single pulley' and 'planetary gear system', basically, with the additional context that I'd mostly like to get better at designing and building simple mechanics for like, cosplay and 3d printing projects, etc.

For my hackathon project I did try to make CFA (Cat Factor Authentication, using your cat's microchip as a second factor) a thing 😆 The project did win a prize, but more for the experimentation then the actual result https://wpengine.com/blog/hackathon-december-2023/

I'm looking for someone who can provide #resume coaching or resume assistance -- my husband is still stuck in his job search after having to leave his last position due to long covid. He's been in #dataanalytics for over a decade but is getting nothing back on applications so I think we must be doing something wrong. In order to ward off evil and welcome in good fortune for the new year, since Edo times it has been a tradition to take a yuzu-yu on the Winter Solstice...possibly because the words for 'winter solstice' (冬至) and 'hot-spring cure' (湯治) can both be read as 'tōji'.
